Where? Wai Sik Kai, SS2. The long row of hawkers shops in the centre of SS2 - impossible to miss.
Why? Dinner.

There is one little shop that serves affordable western food in Wai Sik Kai, and it is not standing tall among other stalls - you might find it if you look hard enough. Western food are like a dime in a dozen here!

Is there anything particularly nice about this place? Honestly, no. In fact, it tastes rather normal - much like those you find in makan shops. I don't know if it should be called healthy because it obviously ain't, with all the fried stuff and so on.

I thought this might stand a chance against the Kepong spagetthi, but no! (Kepong's have much more MSG lol) This one at least can see the meat on the sauce - but my taste buds were already one with MSGs (as in like Neo one-ish), so I found this to be a little blend.
This plate cost RM5.

Fish and Chips (or was it Chicken Chop?) was ordered by someone else. I stole a bit and I thought it tasted pretty normal, if not oily. Health conscious people might choose to avoid this. The french fries were pretty decent as well and this cost RM6.50.

The Chicken Maryland is pretty much Chicken Chop + sauce. I never did like my food flooded with gooey sauce, hence I shall not comments on this. Sherry ordered this - maybe she can provide some insights?

Verdict!
Satisfaction - 5.5/10
Value for money - 6/10
Quality - 6/10
Quantity - 6/10
Service - 5.5/10

Will I return? Yes, because it is convenient and affordable.

Where? Somewhere along the famous square are in Seksyen 17. There's only one vegetarian restaurant there so if you keep driving aroud, you won't miss it. It's opposite the open air carpark entrance in the center.
Why? Sometimes it is good to get away from meat!

I actually forgot the name of the restaurant and I even forgot to take a picture of it. Yeah, please forgive me...I'm getting old nowadays. Anyway, my aunty is a vegetarian so we had to go someplace that serves only vegetarian food. Guess what, she recommended this place, and so I thought its time for another review!

The boss recommended their speciality 'Char Siew' plate - pork with steam bun. It looks ordinary at first, but upon biting into the pork, it really does get you by surprise! It is super crunchy in a very good way - the kind that doesn't crack your teeth but still delivers a punch in taste! The steam bun was great too and goes very well with the porkzz.

This is also another great dish. Weird name for it though - mixing chicken with lamb? It looks like meatballs and tastes like meatball too! (But deep down you know its made from flour, so the joy might be only short-lived for some)

One thing I dislike about vegetarian restaurants is their friggin' prices! Everything is made from flour BUT they dare charge more than people that sells the actual thing! Imagine vegetarian pork is more expensive than actual pork. WTF!

Oh yea now you're gonna tell me it takes more skill to prepare it? Heaven knows.

This taste like what you would normally expect it to - nothing special about it and I don't know why we ordered something completely the same. Should've ordered something new! But its too late for that now. Maybe next time you can go and try and tell me what to order ok?

Good news for the Le Kiamsiaps! They provide desserts on the house! Well, you only get fruits and I think that it is more than enough lah. One should never be greedy, hence he shall pay for it!

Overall, great place to eat for the vegetarians - in fact I would say it might even be nicer than the places that sells the actual stuff! But everything here cost about an average of RM10-RM15 a plate. Expensive? You decide.

Verdict!
Satisfaction - 7/10
Quality - 6.8/10
Quantity - 6.5/10
Value for money - 6/10
Service - 6.5/10

Will I return? Probably not by myself, but with family or relatives. Too expensive and too much for me to handle by myself.

It was an honest mistake. I did not know that the hotdog franchies 1901 had a promotion on the 19th of every month! Sounds a little familiar with Baskin Robbins' promotion on the 31st of every month, eh? I don't know who came up with it first or if they came up with it together..the important thing is that on every 19th, prices of hotdog in 1901 are reduces drastically!

I haven't tried 1901 before as I thought if I wanted hotdog, I could've easily went to a Ramli's burger stall by the roadsite. Although it tends to deteriorate my health, but I think the general public wouldn't mind it. Much cheaper and nicer as well!

A HOTDOG IS AVAILABLE AT ONLY RM1.99 EACH! There are 2 types - chicken and beef. Wah lau, it is super cheap man! Even cheaper than Ramli's hotdog! Because it is so dirt cheap, people have this tendency to starve themselves up to the max. I mean MAXIMUM LIMIT!

Even drinks come at RM1 each. Basically everything here on the 19th is so damn cheap, you can literally stuff yourself full! I was actually attracted to the shop by the super long que that was outside.

In my opinion, the hotdog doesn't really excel in taste, but for the size and the price you pay...it is simply worth it. Probably nearly double the size of a Ramli's hotdog and definitely more healthy.

So what are you waiting for? Go grab some today! Uh wait, I just remembered, promotion is only valid on every 19th!

Where? Mid Valley, the underground walkway heading towards The Gardens.
Why? I have a thing or two for Nyonya food. Can't say the same about you though!

This was actually taken with my old Canon SX100 IS, which now belongs to someone else...*sobs*

First thing that comes to mind for a Nyonya restaurant - this is gonna be really pricey!

But surprisingly, it wasn't. I found out so because their menu was slapped right across the counter, on the wall - you can't possibly miss it. Although they have a limited number of dishes available (say maybe 10), they did capped the price of each dish at around RM8 if I'm not mistaken. Can't really remember it now though.

This shop actually tries to bring back the memories of the old times, like displaying antique stuff and stuff which used to belong to your grandmother's era. But if they were indeed trying to go for that feel, I must say that I am a little disappointed. It still feels too modernized, and it doesn't have the feeling of as though I was sitting by this worn down, broken and old shack by the roadsite in old towns.

I don't really like mee hoon, and my friend who tried this said he didn't like it as well. It was sort of too spicy or something - can't really remembered what he said. On the bright side, the chicken was not bad though. So I guess I won't be eating this plate of mee hoon anytime soon!

One thing I found a little strange was this - the waitress that took our order, gave it away to another person who came later than us, but so happened that it was the last dish because they ran out of ingredients. Suddenly, the so-called big boss Bangla dude came out and scolded his worker right in front of us. Not really leaving a good impression on your customers, ya think?

Chee Cheong Fun! Why pay RM8 for something which you can get for less than one fourth the price by the roadside? Roadside even got more 'ambience' yea? But of course, this place got air con lah - suitable for those that needs to be pampered constantly.
Anyhow, Chee Cheong Fun was not bad though. I kinda liked it...like more than a little!

Servings in general for each dish were mediocre. It is probably enough to leave you at a satisfied level but won't make you full, assuming you are a big eater like me.

Verdict!
Service - 5.8/10
Quantity - 6.5/10
Quality - 6.5/10
Value for money - 7/10
Satisfaction - 6.3/10

Will I return? Well, maybe not. I like Nyonya but I didn't really fell in love with this one.
