- Watch the trailer for one of the most celebrated graphic novel of all times - Watchmen The Movie. Screening is scheduled to be out in March 2009. On a side note, I am loving the dark and emo soundtrack.
- THE NEXT BIG THING: Christmas!!
The initial plan was to go to Curve to watch the fireworks display, but since I was there already last year and got my self stuck amidst the insane crowd, I figured it was time for a change this year. So I got my buddies together and we went to 1 Utama instead, for a change!
There were 12 people, or possibly more, in our group - one of the bigger groups we ever had for a new year's countdown. Some came back from overseas, some from some unknown land and some who were just here for fun!
Fu Shen made quite a mess at the 1 Utama carpark - he made one car alarm blast away by sitting on the bonet, while pissing of another BMW owner for leaning on his car. Jun Xian found an unlocked Kancil and opened the door, only to see the owners rushing back to their car while we ran away giggling like fools.
We chose a spot at the Central Park and sat down while waiting for the new year. It was pitch dark and I couldn't even see a thing through my camera's viewfinder. Thank goodness the external flash came in handy.
There was also a lala performance at 1 Utama's outer surroundings - so teruk that we all couldn't tahan. One of 8TV's famous host was there - Gary Chou, I think. Basically it was super lala with all the gay dancing and shit.
Then it was finally midnight, which marked the start of the new year! Fireworks fired away from the Curve and 1 Utama. I couldn't really shoot anything properly from where we were.
Basically we were right under the fireworks. Even a super wide angle lens wouldn't have been able to capture the fireworks from where I was standing, so I had to choose to shoot Curve's fireworks instead. LOL.
Last time I see people holding dSLR, I thought sure can take good pictures. But now, dSLR with the kit lens also not proper enough to take a really good fireworks picture. Position and tripod was important too - and I didn't had any. Darn!
I could see that this year the management for both shopping malls became more kiamsiap, possibly due to recession. The fireworks were nice, but they were much shorter in duration compared to last year!
This year also saw a rapid increase in couples among my friends. At times, I felt like I was in last place of the love race. I go here stand got couple, go there stand also got couple. Dunno where to put my face also. Damn paiseh.
But still, celebrating with friends brings much more fun and meaning, compared to celebrating alone. So kesian. Friends are fun too! (Well, obviously. Unless for special cases.) I AM thankful for all my friends, really. They are not superstars or Kenny Sias, but hey, I'm a nobody too. That puts us all in the same, happy-fun boat!
Headed to LongBar for post party. We sat around in the garden and talk cock while passing time. Since the majority of us don't drink, so it was ironic that we where there. LOL.
Saw a couple of my old pals there and camwhored. I feel underdress going to a bar with shorts. But what the heck, its the new year!
I haven't met Yeaw Nian in quite a while and I must say I'm amazed by his changes. More buffed up and meaty, the fella was busy dry-humping girls on the dance floor when I saw him. Culture shock for me..! Last time the fella very goody goody wan mah.
I will be compiling a short slideshow soon on the years events and happening. Hopefully it'll be up soon! In the mean time, happy new year and God bless!
So, Christmas is over and the new year looms just ahead! Will the next year be better or worst? Some speculation about the economic lapse might not be encouraging, but I do pray that it will turn out for the better.
How was your Christmas? Let me share with you what me and my friends did, okay?
(Well, you don't have a choice, really.)
There was a meetout at LongBar, One Hotel in 1 Utama recently. I popped by to say hi to my chums and to grab a few photos. The event was called "Meetout" and it was organized for a good cause - to help save a family in debt, which recently came out on newspaper. God bless their soul.
Needless to say, where there is booze, there will be people. It's a good thing that I'm not a boozer, or else I will be broke until my mother also cannot recognize me.
I only managed to stay for about 20 mins before leaving - the party haven't even begun yet! But apparently they had alot of people and the party was a success. A total of RM2,000+ was amassed from these kind folks. Very meaningful Christmas event, won't you say?
Wai King has a twin, long lost brother! Bet you didn't know that, did you?
Look'e here! All ze pretty ladies!
Then, me and my church's youth group had an outing to the Little Sisters of the Poor (an old folks home) to visit them and entertain them during this time of the year! Its not fair if you only enjoy it yourself, in your nice comfy homes - you should share it with others too! The only thing I was worried about was that they wouldn't be able to cope with all the running and panting and excitement. Lucky thing nothing bad happened.
Old folks can be cheeky too at times.
On Christmas eve, we had a partayyyyy at an uncle's place who is from my church. Good thing got party if not then it would be a rather quiet Christmas!
After that, on boxing day also got another makan-makan! This time it was at Brian's house and we experimented with all kinds of food. Brian can open his own restaurant already lah because I'm sure those that went would've agreed that his food is damn nice yea? Got meat, spagetthi, chicken and dunno what somemore.
I was sick and I only ate bread while watching them eat all the good food! Bah. I suck!
Truffles, or Triffles - made by Samuel Lai. Correct me about the spelling as I'm not too sure which one it is.
"You'd better behave or I'm coming to whoop yer ass."
Played with my wireless flash. I modified the bounce card to cover half of the flash so that it would bounce upwards on the ceiling and brighten the whole place. But what I got was a different result instead - half dark half bright.
Can show comparision between flash and without flash..LOL.
So that practically gives you a rough idea of my Christmas. How was yours?
26th of December is also known as 'Boxing Day' - no, you don't actually get to punch people on the street legally. It's called Boxing Day because we usually open all the presents that we received on Christmas day on this day!
But, how many of us actually follow that tradition? I know I don't. I mean come on, if I came to visit you and you gave me a wrapped present, I would've torn it apart even before you could utter the words, "I'm a big fatso with alot of money and I like to dry hump girls at the local club just like how Kenny Sia showed me on his blog".
Okay, maybe a little exaggerated, but you get the point.
This year I picked up a couple of small gifts along the way - sorry la I didn't really get any big presents like some of you rich kids out there! Here are some of them, in no particular order!
Okay, so one of my presents was this.
Okay, apparently someone though I wasn't holy enough - I do admit that I'm not. Whether this is a hint or not, I shall take it with good heart and try to read up to be a better Christian! If you see me preaching to people on the road next time, you'll know where I get my inspiration.
Then, I also had this cute little box!
Wah, so now actually people see me as not only unholy, but a small kid also meh? Aiyo, so cham lah me. The last I checked, I was a little older than 7 years old...unless I was wrong.
You can actually detached the head of the Hello Piggy toy and use it as a pen. Imagine using this is office or uni. Sure get alot of attention. Whether it is good or bad, that depends entirely on how you pull it off. The remaining body part, well, serves no purpose except to take up space and to look cute, although I'm not sure how a headless piggy might be pleasing on the eye.
I also received a tie!
...but it was a pink one. So now I'm a unholy small kid who is gay. I've never had so many attributes before and it must only mean a good thing.
Pink is not really my style, although I remembered the time when I so badly wanted to buy a PINK Samsung compact camera just to look cool. Thank God I didn't went ahead with the plan.
I'm not sure how I will look if I showed up on my first interview wearing a pink tie. I might actually get lucky if my interviewer was gay too, then we can have some brotherly love and probably shove all the other candidates aside and nail the job.
For the record, I will not be applying to be a gigolo anytime soon. I hope.
And finally I got this too!
I double-checked it at first just in case my eyes were playing tricks on me. Then I thought it might be specially made biscuits in the shape of dog bones. But no! IT WAS REALLY DOG BISCUITS! I almost wanted to open and try one just to be VERY VERY sure. The only reason I could think of for someone to give me this is that it is actually real dog-shaped-unique-whatever biscuits.
So I'm a gay and unholy small kid who looks like a dog. Just perfect.
